Rugby is a game not for the faint hearted. It is one of the popular sports in the world played mostly by men. Today, however, women and kids rugby league are starting to gain popularity, too. This is a full contact sport which is similar to football played by two teams.

There are two kinds of rugby, the rugby union and the rugby league. Rugby union is played mostly in Europe and in UK while rugby league is played in Australia and New Zealand. These two types also differ in terms of rules and regulations. In rugby union, two opposing teams both have 15 players, 8 of which plays forward who gets the ball while the other 7 are players who backs up the one carrying the ball.

In this game, the defensive team will first have the kick towards his teammate. If the teammate gets tackled, then he cannot pass the ball forward. A team will have a score when they get a goal by kicking the rugby ball to the goal post or touching the ball to the goal area. On the other hand, the game will be stop when a violation occurs. For instance, when the ball goes out of the play area or when two players from different teams both grab the ball.

On the other hand, rugby league has two opposing teams with 13 players each. Six players are playing forward while the other seven play backs. Just like in rugby union, the defensive team will have the first kick and the play will continue until the rugby ball gets tackled. The difference between these rugby games is that the game still continues even after a tackle. In this case, a player may kick the rugby ball backwards towards his teammate.

However, if the defensive team gets tackled six times before getting a point, the ball will be given to the opposing team. Scoring in this rugby games is as follows: four points for getting the ball in the goal zone, two points for penalty kick and one point for every field goal kicks.

Rugby games are physical sports that are played by people who are physically and mentally strong. It is a sport enjoyed by many and has a large fan base. Some of the most popular rugby players in the world are Jonah Lomu, Dan Carter, Matt Giteau, and George Greagan.
